A Prophecy

Yesterday's church service sure didn't qualify for my list of boring sermons. Quite the contrary. Now before I go any further, I'll let you know that I come from a pretty conservative background. Let's just say that I never heard the words "apostle" and "prophet"outside the pages of the Bible.

A little vulnerability here, so try to put yourself in my shoes. I went to visit a church here in Mexico City yesterday. One of the leaders there had invited me to come. She explained that her brother had canceled a trip to the U.S. because he had a word from the Lord for me. I thought, "Cool." She said she would like for me to come the next day (Sunday). She didn't know this at the time, but I had just arrived back in Mexico City the day before.

So, I made the trip to the church. Toward the end of the pastor's sermon (almost a three hour one), he called my name and began to speak a prophecy over me. He said the following:
  • Within the next three years you will see a great movement of God in this city. Thousands upon thousands will experience God. This movement will have an effect on the rest of the world.
  • Also, within the next three years, you will experience more growth in your personal life than you have during all of your Christian life combined.
  • Because Americans are now not welcome in certain parts of the world, God will give you dual citizenship. One year from now you will be a Mexican citizen, which will allow you to travel all over the world to minister.
He shared a few more things with me, but I won't write them here.

Now, this pastor shared with me at the beginning of his prophecy that he did indeed cancel his trip to Los Angeles in part to share this prophecy, even though he had no idea I would come to the service that day. The trip that he had to cancel included him preaching to a televised audience. He had a difficult time explaining to the people in the L.A. why he couldn't come, but he simply knew that God wanted him to stay.

Habakuk (his real name) came to follow the Lord wholeheartedly during his time in college. He encountered some staff with Campus Crusade for Christ that mentored him. He now oversees a 21-church network in Mexico at the age of 44.

I guess I'm writing this to say that...this is a first. I have had people see visions about my life but never with such specificity as this. Interesting huh?

That would be pretty challenging to me. Part of me finds great security in NOT knowing what comes next. I look forward to keeping up with you to see how this all pans out. I am curious as to what else he shared, unless it is personal.

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Did he by chance mention anything about a wife and kids? Just checking.

no prophecy about a wife and kids yet. that could be a good sign given the track record of some of the "prophets" around here.
