Unfortunately this isn't a prophetic word about a coming revival, although I may have something to say on that later. I actually just read an article about the tectonic plates shifting beneath my home in Mexico.Geologists have followed a tectonic plate outside of Mexico City for many years. Usually oceanic plates slide underneath continental plates, which this one has down at the rate of 1 inch per year for several years. Last year, however, it took a sudden turn. The plate has now reversed its course and quadrupled its speed. That has created some alarm in the scientific community.
In 1985, a magnitude 8.1 quake centered north of Guerrero (where Acapulco lies), killed 10,000 people in Mexico City. The last quake actually centered in Guerrero occurred in 1911. The smart people are saying that it's just about time for another big one.
Should that happen, I pray that we will have a labor force raised up ready to meet the needs of millions of people. It's simply not a matter of if the quake will rock the city, but when it will hit and with what force.
